Updated statement - 26/5/17

Dear Members,

The committee has retained the services of the Club’s solicitors, Geikie Clarke Bellantonio, to respond to David Pilkington’s allegations and notification has been sent to David Pilkington today.

It is considered that David Pilkington’s actions and allegations are aimed at not only causing embarrassment, loss of reputation and damage to the Committee members but also aimed at causing severe financial damage to the club and its membership.

The committee denies the use of illegal chemicals and they have checked and have been informed that the use of the chemicals in the manner applied by the Club’s groundsman is appropriate and safe and is standard field practice and we are currently working with Hawkesbury City Council to check any safety regulations so as to ensure the safety of players, parents and visitors. Turfgrass Scientific Services Pty Ltd has completed a review of the technical matters contained in David Pilkington’s email and this is available here.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have today been in contact with the club and have stated they have spoken with our groundskeeper and contractor and are currently satisfied that further investigation of the complaint is not required. A formal statement will be issued by them next week.

The committee denies that there are any accounting or administration irregularities as alleged by David Pilkington and the committee denies that they are acting in any way illegally in any activity as alleged.

The breach of privacy in relation to members email addresses by David Pilkington is being investigated and the Club and the committee did not authorise him or any one on his behalf to access and use the members private email addresses and the committee respects the privacy of all its members which is treated with the utmost priority. David Pilkington has been directed to destroy and delete all the private information and addresses of club membership which he has accessed, taken and used without authority.

Regards
Committee
