Unexpected support helps Colo 14 Girls to the finals

14/8/2018

All warmed up & waiting for Ref for the 14 Girls Division 1 semi final against Jamisontown on Saturday morning.  A bus turned up with a group of Chinese tourists. The tourist got off the bus and came running towards the Colo team asking if the could take a photo with the FAMOUS AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL TEAM,  (must be the team colours)  They had noticed the Aussie team warming up, as it was their first visit to Australia the Colo Girls happily agreed with their request.

Game started &  & ended up with a 5-1 victory to set us up in a Grand Final Game!!

The NSW Government initiative of the Active Kids Rebate is available to be redeemed from Service NSW TODAY!

31/1/2018

The rebate is aimed to help reduce the barriers for families wanting to have their children participate in the activities of sport and fitness, by helping with the cost of wanting to be a part of a sporting community. Therefore the NSW Government has allocated each child aged from 4.5 - 18 years' old and enrolled in full time school a $100 voucher, which can be applied to the overall cost such as registration and other sign up costs.

Here's some quick notes which you will need to know about this offer

  • The Active Kids Voucher can only be redeemed once per child
  • The voucher cannot be split over several applications, and will have to be used in its entirety at the time of use, any unused portion is forfeited
  • The programs which it is applied to must run for a minimum of eight weeks
  • The child applying for the voucher must be enrolled in school (Kindergarten to Year 12, including the home-schooling system). Or enrolled in a secondary education such as TAFE NSW, for those early school leavers who are still under 18 years of age.
  • The voucher will be available to be used from its release (31st of January 2018) to the end of the calendar year (31st of December 2018). If it is not used after this date, the value of the voucher will expire and will not be valid for use in 2019.
  • After applying for your voucher, head to the Play Football website to register for your Club. To apply the discount to your registration, at the invoice screen enter your code you receive into the “Active Kids Voucher” field and your registration will automatically be updated with the discount. If you have already registered, provide the voucher to your club so that they can validate the code
At the point of applying for the voucher, the parent, guardian or carer will need a valid Medicare Card with the details of the child as well as a MyServiceNSW Account

2018 Registrations-Active Kids Voucher-YES WE ACCEPT IT!!                   To enable parents to take advantage of this fantastic offer Junior Registrations will not OPEN until 31/1/18

2/1/2018

Commencing 31 January 2018, the NSW Government will allocate $207 million over four years to establish Active Kids.(click on link for Active Kids Guidelines)
Active Kids is a program to help NSW families meet the cost of getting their kids into sport and active fitness and recreation activities.

Who is eligible to claim the voucher?
Every child (4.5 – 18 years’ old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 will be eligible for an Active Kids Voucher. This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.

It will not be means tested and one voucher will be available for every child in the family annually over the next four years.
There will be no limits on the number of applications per family, as long as every child is enrolled in school.

How long are vouchers valid?
Vouchers provided are valid for redemption during the current calendar year activity program (Year 1 will commence from 31 January and expire on 31 December 2018). Vouchers shall expire at the end of the calendar year.
2019 vouchers and beyond will commence from 1 January each year and expire on 31 December.
No availability exists for retrospective redemption of vouchers.

Vouchers are available for redemption once only for the nominated registered season or term of activity.
What can the voucher be used for?

The voucher can be used for registration or membership fees for structured activities of no less than eight weeks’ duration that provide a moderate to vigorous level of physical activity, for example:
Registration fee for Colo Soccer Football Club

sporting pursuits
swimming lessons
structured fitness program
outdoor education programs
approved active recreation (dance etc)
equipment ordinarily provided by the provider on registration for competition.

Physical activity is defined as movement involving large muscles (e.g. running, swimming, aerobic activity). Physical activity must be planned, structured and involve repetitive bodily movement which improves or maintains physical fitness.
The vouchers will be redeemable through approved sport, fitness and physical activity providers upon registration.
Please note that vouchers cannot be split between multiple clubs or registrations, and therefore you may not be able to claim the full $100.

FAQ'S

What can’t the voucher be used for?
Individual items (such as jerseys, socks, boots, etc.) that would usually be purchased from a retailer and paid for by the individual as part of participating in the activity separate to any membership or registration fees charged by the provider.

How do you download a voucher?

From 31 January 2018, parents/guardians/carers with legal responsibility of an eligible child resident in NSW will be able to download a voucher from an online platform. The platform will be run by Service NSW and can be accessed through the Football NSW  website.

When will the program be introduced?
From 31 January 2018 families will be able to claim their voucher/s.

What happens if my child lives outside NSW?
To be eligible for a voucher, each child must reside in NSW.

The club or activity provider where the child registers must also be located and operating in NSW.

Some examples are:
My child lives in NSW and plays in a NSW club – the child is eligible to claim a voucher
My child lives in QLD and plays in a NSW club – the child is ineligible to claim a voucher
My child lives in NSW, goes to school in VIC – the child is eligible to claim a voucher
My child lives in NSW but plays in a local club located in VIC – the child is eligible to claim a voucher but cannot use the voucher at a club operating outside NSW.

Derek Byrnes Annual Memorial Challenge 7/10/17

The 6th edition of the Derek Cup against Bathurst provided many highlights, as always. Manton surprised by bringing a strong squad down the Mountain, on race weekend no less. The injured Colo manager, however, had assembled an eclectic match day selection. Northcote had been in boot camp mode for weeks and screamed "oh no"!!! - Dragan like- when Manton headed in the opener against an otherwise brilliant and flamboyantly dressed Dwayne Saunders. The initial response was to play three Calphy's at the same time. Absolute master stroke. But the move only really paid off when wing man Dragan became inspired by the massive support from his injured team mates Al & Ek on the side line, who took heckling to atmospheric new levels.
